Details

  • Samsung's CHG70 Gaming Monitor provides the expected detail and contrast in a curved screen for optimum immersiveness.
  • Samsung may be best known for its TVs and smartphones, but the company's expertise in displays makes it a force to be reckoned with in the monitor world.
  • The Samsung CHG70 touts superior color accuracy, excellent response times and premium touches such as HDR support and AMD FreeSync. Easily one of the best gaming monitors on the market.
  • Features an elegant curved 32” QLED display.
  • Has an understated aesthetic for a gaming monitor. It lacks the bold colors and aggressive, angular stylings. Instead, the monitor's chassis is made of a dark-gray plastic with a subtle blue tint.
  • Display boasts a 1-millisecond response time and a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz, making it ideal for fast-paced action.
  • Supports AMD's Radeon FreeSync 2, which matches frame rates and refresh rates to prevent screen tearing.
  • The curved display does introduces some problems into an otherwise stellar monitor, such as color issues and warping at the curved ends of the panel.
  • A good monitor for mixed usage, better than average picture quality and great gaming performance.
  • The good contrast ratio and native HDR support make it a good choice for watching movies, but it has poor black uniformity, which might be distracting in a dark room.

Most customers were happy with the vibrant colors, 144Hz, and 1ms response time. Some customers were unhappy the monitor died within a year, or the DisplayPort stopped working.

  • I'm using this monitor for games. I've got another monitor that I use for graphical work. If you can only have 1 monitor and you make money in graphical design or 100% color correctness, you should probably get a monitor designed for graphics design. If you want a reasonably priced monitor that works with G-sync software AND does HDR reasonably well, get this monitor.

  • This is a great monitor that is able to produce vibrant colors due to Samsung's quantum dot technology. Color contrast is great, and HDR implementation works perfectly on my PS4 PRO. For people who are buying this monitor for their PS4 PRO, please note that the console will detect the display as 4k, then supersample it to 1440p during gameplay (for games that does support 4k resolution). 144 Hz and 1 ms response time makes PC gaming feel crisp and smooth, and once you experience 144 Hz you won't be able to go back to 60 Hz. Great monitor for competitive games, especially FPS games. This monitor has a VA panel, giving it better viewing angles. Reasons for buying this monitor: -144 Hz, 1 ms response time -1440p display -vibrant colors -HDR -32 inches.

  • Died within a year, pretty common problem with this panel.

  • When this is working correctly, I think it is a great gaming monitor. But, I have now had the DisplayPort stop working on this twice. As I am a gamer with a pretty beefy rig, having to use HDMI does not fully utilize my machine. If I am spending the kind of money asked for this product, I expect it to work.
