Most customers were happy the surge protector was built to last, and had a solid feel to it. Some customers were disappointed the surge protector was bulkier than expected, or only 4 of the outlets were filtered.
Summarized ReviewThe PST-8D provides what I consider the best value for a functional feature set, and I consider it an 'entry' level surge protector. This is because when I look at a surge protector I'm not looking at a joule rating or a nameplate - I'm looking for a functional set of features that will actually accomplish what a surge protector is supposed to do: provide comprehensive protection for your equipment.
Slipstream · from AmazonI never considered spending more than $20 on a power strip / surge protector until I bought an audiophile stereo system. The shop that sold me my turntable recommended a $500 power strip. Another shop recommended replacing the stock power cable that came with my amp with a $150 cable. Both recommendations were for sound quality, not surge protection. While I wasn't willing to risk $500 for a power strip of dubious benefit, I was very willing to spend $150 on this Furman power conditioner/surge protector, and I'm glad I did.
SSP · from AmazonDoes the job but rather misleading that only 4 of the outlets are filtered. Much bulkier than I expected and not ideal for my application as such. Should have checked dimensions. Very solidly built.
Silas M · from AmazonGreat product, built to last for ever... it's big but ok for me, I knew before I bought it.
GTN · from AmazonVery well built and finished. Looks and feels much more expensive.
